Dr Mark Ellis interviewed former US Ambassador to Russia John J Sullivan on how the international community should deal with Russia and President Putin. In a fascinating session, Ambassador Sullivan stated he had warned successive US administrations of Putin’s intentions towards Ukraine but he was ignored.
He believed Putin did not fear the ICC but was sensitive to the allegation he was a war criminal and that the Russian people would eventually react negatively to their ‘boys’ returning as casualties from the war zone.
