A woman defrauded her 74-year-old neighbour out of £118,000 over 19 months, convincing the victim that she was investing in lucrative property deals in Spain. The fraud occurred between January 2019 and October 2020. The defendant spent the money on designer goods, luxury cruises, and expensive holidays in the Caribbean.
The defendant was sentenced before the Luton Crown Court and received an immediate custodial sentence.
