Keren joined 9BR Chambers in October 2023. She has been supervised by Ruth Becker, Daniel Higgins and Max Hardy.
Background and Expertise
Keren comes to 9BR Chambers with a wealth of experience obtained from working within various sectors of the criminal justice system. This includes: assisting prosecutors at the Crown Prosecution Service, working with prisoners at HM Prison Service and a Crown Court manager.
Prior to commencing pupillage, as a paralegal at Sonn Macmillan Walker, Keren prepared the defence in the extradition case of Cyprus v CD [2023], alongside Ben Joyes. The Requested Person resisted extradition on Article 3 ECHR prison condition grounds. The client was successfully discharged, due to the provision of an inadequate prison assurance.
Instrumental in a whole range of criminal matters, notably, Keren assisted King’s Counsel by assimilating extensive data in a complex, multi-million pound fraud case, involving the first defendant on the indictment.
Keren secured favourable outcomes, whilst representing various clients in over 900 civil cases, as a county court advocate. Due to her meticulous and pragmatic approach, Keren was continually requested by instructing solicitors and lay clients.
