Alex appeared for the prosecution in an interlocutory appeal to the Court of Appeal concerning the terrorism “notification” regime.
At the appeal the Court of Appeal considered the ambit of the reporting regime for convicted terrorists. At a Preparatory Hearing at Manchester Crown Court HHJ Field KC had ruled against the defendant in numerous aspects. The case was appealed prior to commencement of trial.
After full argument the Court of Appeal refused the defendant leave to appeal on all grounds. The defendant entered acceptable guilty pleas following the ruling.
