Following an eight-week trial, seven defendants were sentenced to a combined total of 79 years for their respective roles in an enterprise, which saw a street value of 4-10 million pounds of class A and B drugs being supplied across county lines.
The investigation commenced after a conspirator’s phone was interrogated, revealing the scale of the operation with plans amongst the hierarchy of setting up subsidiaries and expanding the business.
This was a well-organised conspiracy, which involved the use of storage facilities, vacuum-sealing and cash-counting machines, cutting and bulking agents, as well as passwords and tokens being required for deliveries of a large quantity of drugs.
